Herbert amp;#8220;Herb/Herbieamp;#8221; Kropnick passed away on September 6, 2022, at the age of 93. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Benjamin and Irene (Lacoff) Kropnick. He is survived by his sons, Stuart (Janet) Kropnick, Glen Kropnick, grandsons Eric (Yolanda) Mathiasen, Joshua, Andrew, Bryan (Alexandra) and Jordan Kropnick, great grandchildren Carson Jacob Kropnick and Erica, Matthew, and James Johnson in addition to several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son David, wife Eunice (Neicey), brother Leon and sister-in-law Renee Kropnick, sister Elisa and brother-in- law Larry Uchin and sister Shirley and brother-in-laws Ernie Ciarelli and Jack Finklestein.
Herb served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. After the service, he worked for the family business, Theatre Carpet in Philadelphia. He went on to own his own business, Herbamp;#8217;s Carpet and later he and Neicey opened a plant shop called amp;#8220;The Window Boxamp;#8221; also in Philadelphia. Herb and Neicey were one of the original homeowners in Levittown, Pennsylvania when the community was first built in the 1950s. He was also active in politics and was committee man for his district. He was extremely active in cub scouts and boy scouts where he was institutional representative for cub and scout troop 122. He was also a 32amp;#176; Mason and a Shriner. Herb became a charter member and 3rd president of the Colonial Coin Club and an extremely active member of Bucks County Rock and Mineral Club. He was also a Bucks County senior volunteer for 15 years, and President of the Galilee Village Residents association in Levittown when he resided there. When he re-located to Morrisville to be closer to family, he also volunteered his time at the Morrisville School district teaching kids about rocks and minerals. Herb had many other interests, such as coins, stamps, postcards, Asian art and figurines, and Native American culture. He kept busy by creating a lot of different things though crafts and especially beading. He also enjoyed perusing flea markets with his friend Mary amp;#8220;Cathyamp;#8221; Daniels and travelling to north Jersey to mine for gemstones and volunteer at the Franklin Mineral Museum.
Herb will especially be remembered for his laugh, his kind heart and always wanting to help people. He had unconditional love for his family and was a loyal friend to many. We would like to thank the staff at the Horsham Center for Jewish Life for the excellent care he received there and to all the health professionals he was treated by though the Jefferson Health Network.
