Minimum age allowed - 18
Meet at the Franklin Mineral Museum parking lot at 8:30 AM sharp to sign waiver forms and check your membership status.
Personal protective gear is advised! Safety glasses are mandatory!

Fluorescent Mineral collectors from far and wide to encourage sharing of ones specimens.

I encourage bringing unknown Buckwheat and Sterling Hill mineral finds
for help with identification also. We encourage the fluorescent aspect of identification.

Coffee/Tea will be available as well as some soft drink beverages on a
first come first serve basis.

Saturday, May 17, 2025  --  FOMS Field Trip / Meeting

  9:00 AM - Noon - FOMS Field Trip -amp;#160;Collecting at Braen Quarry Franklin NJ
The May field trip is at an operational commercial quarry. They are VERY strict on PPE and following rules. You must arrive by 8:30am to sign waivers and await a safety briefing at 9. If you arrive late, you will be turned away. Arrive between 8-8:30am. You must wear safety glasses, protective toed shoes, long pants, safety vest, gloves and a hard hat. These are MSHA requirements. If MSHA does a surprise inspection at the quarry and even one person is found not abiding by the PPE requirements, the entire group will be asked to leave and actually will never be able to visit the quarry again. Bring your own tools.

  The FOMS Annual Banquetamp;#160;starts at 6:00 pm on Saturday at the Lyceum Hall of the Immaculate Conception Church,
located at the south end of Franklinamp;#8217;s Main Street.
Tickets are $25.00 and may be obtained at the admission table inside the entrance gate to Firemenamp;#8217;s Memorial Park during the show. The meal is an all-you-can-eat buffet; soda, tea, coffee, and dessert are included. Doors will open at 6:00 PM.

After the banquet there will be an auction for the benefit of the FOMS. Please plan on donating a good specimen, artifact, book, etc.!

All those planning to attend, please contact Lois Verbeek ASAP atamp;#160;loismverbeek@gmail.comamp;#160;(or text or call at 201-317-4040) so we can estimate number of attendees. Donations for the auction can be dropped off at the Franklin Mineral Museum during business hours or, if necessary, brought to the banquet.

The ticket price covers the show, andamp;#160;The Pondamp;#160;outdoor swap:
$7.00 per day for adults, $5.00 for seniors and kids under 12.

The Pond Swap-and-Sellamp;#160;sponsored by the FOMS,
takes place outdoors at Fireman's Memorial Park otherwise known as Schuster Park, on the opposite side of Parker St.
9:00 am - 5:00 pm on Saturday
10:00 am - 4:00 pm on Sunday.
Show admission required.

We are looking for volunteers to HELP with the MINERAL SHOW. We need coverage at the PARK gate so that people can take breaks. Please consider helping FOMS make our show a comfortable success by volunteering.

I need one person who can be on site Saturday the 20th at 8am to help coordinate volunteers and oversee the swap in the PARK area. Please contact Stephanie at frogmineralogicalsociety@gmail.com

This location is on private property. It requires a substantial amount of physical endurance to negotiate the property in various spots. This field trip is normally a prettyamp;#160;chilly start in the morning. Dress appropriately.amp;#160;
